Marilyn Glasser began her career in the entertainment industry as a publicist in the Feature Film Division of Paramount Pictures, rising to the position of Director of Foreign Advertising and Publicity. Her responsibilities included coordinating worldwide publicity and advertising for such films as The Godfather, Love Story, and Franco Zefferelli’s Romeo and Juliet, and, conducting press conferences with the stars of upcoming Paramount films, including Warren Beatty, James Caan, Kirk Douglas, Diane Keaton, Jack Lemmon and Donald Sutherland. After eight years at Paramount, she joined International Creative Management (ICM) as a Business Affairs Representative, and then became an Agent. In both of those positions, she secured bookings and handled contract negotiations on behalf of star clients, including Patricia Clarkson, Courtney B. Vance, Jerry Stiller and Tommy Tune. Nine years later, she left the agency, spending a brief period involved in film financing for major producers, before moving on to talent management. As a manager, actors whose careers Marilyn has launched include: Dagmara Dominczyk (Female Lead in Disney's The Count of Monte Cristo), Donovan Patton (Emmy Nominee and Series Regular on Blue’s Clues and Team Umizoomi), Jacob Pitts (Lead in Dreamworks' Euro Trip and HBO's The Pacific), Ellen Pompeo (Lead in independent film, Moonlight Mile), and Kim Shaw (Supporting Lead in Dreamworks' She’s Out Of My League). Clients have also appeared as Series Regulars/Guest Stars and in Recurring roles on numerous prime-time series, including: TNT's The Last Ship, CTV's Saving Hope, Fox's Tru Calling, Chicago PD, How I Met Your Mother, The Good Wife, Two And A Half Men, White Collar, Royal Pains, Law & Order: SVU, NCIS, and the Doug Liman produced series, I Just Want My Pants Back. On stage, clients have starred On and Off Broadway in numerous productions, including Phantom (Vegas), Closer, The Lion In Winter, The Royal Family and Stones In His Pockets.
In her early years as a personal manager, Marilyn traveled back and forth between NY and LA focused on developing relationships with agents and network, studio and independent casting directors. She sought out relationships with top acting coaches and publicists on both coasts. Twenty years ago, she began editing client's demo reels, first securing available footage, and then culling it into the strongest and most impressive three to five minutes of the actor’s work. Through the years, Marilyn has combined her insight, her extensive knowledge of entertainment law, and her understanding of the critical role publicity plays in an actor’s career, to help guide her clients to "grow their business" and take their careers to the next level.
